Bhindi Pakodi(Okra)

Tasty Recipe.


Bhindi (Okra) – 15 small ones

Rice Flour – 2 table spoons
Besan Flour – 4 table spoons

Coriander powder – 1/2 table spooon
Cumin seed powder – 1/2 table spooon
Black pepper powder – 1/4 table spooon
Peanut powder – 1 table spooon
Sugar – 1/2 table spooon

Chpped garlic – 1 table spooon

Cut Cilantro (Coriander Leaves)
Red Chilli pwd – as per your taste
Salt – as per your taste

Note: You can always vary the quantity and proportion of ingredients as per your taste. You even can include additional items if you feel they enhance the taste of the dish.


Wash okra thoroughly and let them dry.
Cut each okra into four long pieces. Sprinkle salt on these pieces and keep them aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
Now take besan flour, rice flour,salt, chilli powder, pepper powder, coriander powder, chopped garlic, peanuts powder, cumin seeds powder and sugar in a container.
To this add okra pieces and water and make a thick batter. Let it stay like this for 5 to 10 minutes.

Stove top:

Take a wide pan. Pour oil for deep frying and heat it.
Take okras from the batter and deep fry them.
Sprinkle cut cilantro on the fried okras.
Bhindi pakodi is now ready to eat hot.
