Shrimp Curry ~ Prawn Curry

I’ve seen many people who don’t like the dishes that are prepared with Prawns or Shrimp.  But believe me, whether it is a prawn curry or shrimp biryani they have the awesome taste.

The one I’m going to show here is one of the unique and simplest ways to prepare the Shrimp curry with gravy.

Necessary Ingrediants:

  • Shrimp/Prawn without tails
  • Oil
  • Onions
  • Green Chillies
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves

For Marination:

  • Red Chillie Pwd
  • Salt
  • Coriander Pwd
  • Cumin/Jeera Pwd
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Oil

Preparation Method:

  • Wash out the shrimp after removing the tails
  • Marinate the shrimp just for 15 mins with all the ingrediants under “For Marination”.
  • After 15mins of marination, heat oil in a pan
  • Once the oil is hot place the prawns and stir for 3-4 mins.

Do not add all the shrimp at a time. Add few and once they are fried take them off into a bowl then add the next few. Repeat the process untill you fried all.

  • Now in the same pan, put the curry leaves and then fry the onions and green chillies.

If you want you can add some more oil before putting the curry leaves.

  • Once the onions become soft, add the fried shrimp and mix well.
  • Keep the flame low and add half cup of water.
  • Do not keep the lid and let the water becomes kind of gravy.
  • Now sprinkle coriader leaves and the most delicious shrimp gravy curry is ready.

Serving Method:

This gravy curry goes well with chapati and rice.
