Spicy snack(Kaarapu billallu)

Tasty and Healthy snack for everyone.


Rice Flour – 1 CUP

Grated Carrot – 1/2 cup

Green chilli – 4
Onion – 1 medium size

Chana dal – 3 table spoons
Sesame seeds – 1 table spoon
cumin seeds – 1 table spoon
Green onion

Red Chilli powder – as per your taste
Salt – as per your taste
Turmeric – as per your taste
cooking oil

Note: You can always vary the quantity and proportion of ingredients as per your taste. You even can include additional items if you feel they enhance the taste of the dish.


Make a coarse paste of onions and greenchillies.Grate carrot.
Soak chana dal for 3 to 4 hours.
Cut green onions and cilantro into small pieces.

Take rice flour, grated carrot, onion and green chilli paste, cut green onions and cilantro, sesame seeds, cumin seeds, chana dal, red chilli powder, salt and turmeric into a bowl. Make a soft dough with all these ingredients using water.

Stove top:

Take a pan with oil and heat it. Take a small round from the dough and make it as a thin circle. Then deep fry it in oil. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
Yummy rice snack is ready to eat.
