Tomato Halwa

This is a very delicious and healthy recipe and can be made very easily.


Red Tomatoes – 5
sugar – 1 cup
Sooji – 1/2 cup

Ghee – 1/2 cup

Cashew – as per your taste
Almonds – as per your taste
Green cardamom powder – 1 table spoon

Note: You can always vary the quantity and proportion of ingredients as per your taste. You even can include additional items if you feel they enhance the taste of the dish.


Cut tomatoes into small pieces.

Stove top:

Put a pan on stove and cook tomatoes till they are soft and well cooked. It should be like tomato puree. You can remove tomato skin if you like.keep it aside.
Put a pan on stove and heat ghee in it.
Fry cashew and almonds in this ghee.Keep them aside.
After that add sooji to this and let it fry till it loses its raw flavour.
To this add two cups of water. Let it cook till it becomes like a soft paste. Most of the water will be evaporated by this time.
Now add tomata paste, cahew and almonds to this. Mix them well and wait for two minutes.
Sprinkle green cardamom powder and switch off the stove.
Tasty tomato halwa is ready to eat.
